It will highlight the application of blocks\, strikes and poomsae from a self-defence\, non-competition\, perspective. In the two-hour session we will discuss the science of generating power\, practice how blocking and striking techniques can be used in self defence\, followed by the practical application of poomsae. Fundamentally\, this workshop will introduce students to interpreting the application of poomsae for themselves\, rather than providing set interpretations by the instructor(s) without depth or context. It is limited to students aged 14+ (please discuss with Tripharn if you have someone younger who you believe is suitable) due to an increasing focus on real life scenarios\, combined with increasing level of resistance from the threat. Grading will be held at our Mitchell studio from 10:30am\, and will be separated into belt order groups with a staggered start. It is highly encouraged that students attend earlier to support other students going through the process\, as well having the opportunity to see higher belts grade. The start dates for each group will be confirmed closer to the date as grading numbers become clearer. \nYou must register in order to attend grading. Without registering we may not have a belt or a certificate ready\, and it will slow down the grading process for all other students. There is a high chance that you will not be graded if you do not register. Instructors will discuss with you\, or your child\, in the weeks leading up to grading about whether they are ready to attend grading. However\, if you have any questions or queries about readiness to grade then please discuss it. \nAttendance to grading is by registration and acceptance. Key dates are detailed below: \n\nRegister your intent to grade online no later than 8 June 2019. The online form is attached below. ** Please select the correct payment for the number of students.\nAcceptance will be via an email invitation\, and will include the grading group and start time. The email will be released a week prior to grading.\nPayment of grading fees is required and is completed during submission. The form will load Paypal to transfer\, if you have any issues using Paypal you can close it out. The registration will be received\, but then please talk to an instructor ASAP to discuss payment.\nOn the rare occasion that grading is not accepted\, the fees will be refunded.\n\nSaturday classes: \n\nThe 1030am class will NOT be running on this day.
