Grandmaster Chang’s Australian Visit – May 2019

Categories Main

Sangrok proudly hosted Grandmaster Chang Seong Dong for a weekend of workshops at our Mitchell training dojang.  As the Australian branch of Sangrok World Taekwondo Academy, Sabonim Pravin is under the direct tutelage of Grandmaster Chang and we were grateful to have the opportunity to train with him.

Grandmaster Chang, now in his seventies, began learning taekwondo at the age of ten.  He has achieved 9th Dan in taekwondo and 8th Dan in hapkido.  With his lifetime of martial arts experience, Grandmaster Chang understands both traditional and modern taekwondo styles and can help students of all ranks to achieve their taekwondo goals.

Grandmaster Chang ran two general taekwondo classes on Saturday morning as well as two 3-hour workshops focusing on taekwondo and hapkido.  Sangrok students enjoyed these challenging classes, despite feeling rather sore the next day, and were most impressed when he demonstrated a one-finger push up!

The students of Sangrok Australia would like to thank Sabonim Pravin for hosting Grandmaster Chang and allowing us the opportunity to train under him and learn from his decades of experience.

Grandmaster Chang enjoyed his time at Sangrok Australia.  He was impressed with the quality of instructors and students and said that we should continue to train hard and “listen to the coach”.
